Russian consensus statement on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with carotid stenosis

Carotid stenosis is a multidisciplinary problem that requires the involvement of specialists’ team, including cardiovascular surgeons, neurosurgeons, endovascular cardiologists, neurologists, and internists. In this consensus statement, group experts considered main stages diagnosing carotid stenosis, as well discussed, necessary prevention methods features choosing optimal treatment approach. The aim was to provide concise structured information on management patients with stenosis. This document developed based updated clinical guidelines European Society for Vascular Surgery American Association Surgery, taking into account opinion Russian experts.
